Our Advanced Training package is specifically designed for dogs who have a solid foundation in obedience and are ready to apply their skills with confidence and reliability in the real world. This program is your direct path to earning the prestigious American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title, a nationally recognized standard for canine manners and a testament to your dog's excellent behavior. This is more than just a test-prep course; it’s a comprehensive Advanced Training program that builds upon your dog’s existing skills. We’ll teach them to perform reliably in distracting, real-world scenarios, transforming them into a well-mannered companion you can proudly take anywhere. Our approach is founded on positive reinforcement, ensuring that every lesson strengthens the bond between you and your dog. Real-World Skills for a Confident Companion Our Advanced Training program is a strategic, four-session course that prepares you and your dog for every aspect of the Canine Good Citizen test. We focus on bridging the gap between practicing at home and performing successfully in public. To achieve this, our sessions are held in various real-world locations, like parks, sidewalks, and community spaces, to expose your dog to the sights, sounds, and smells they will encounter during the official test. Each session is a hands-on experience focused on mastering the ten core skills of the Canine Good Citizen test, providing you with expert guidance and personalized feedback. We’ll systematically work through each element to ensure your dog is prepared and confident. The program includes: Loose-Leash Walking: Mastering the ability to walk politely on a leash through a crowd and navigate turns without pulling. This is a crucial skill for stress-free walks in any environment. Polite Greetings: Your dog will learn to accept a friendly stranger without jumping, as well as sit politely while being petted. Public Manners: We'll work on your dog’s ability to sit and stay in place, come when called from a distance, and remain calm when another dog passes by. Distraction Proofing: Your dog will be trained to maintain focus and remain composed when encountering common distractions, such as loud noises, dropped objects, or new people.
